1. What are the minimum requirements for applying for a county job?

All applicants must be at least 18 yrs old and meet requirements for each job listing.

2. How long is my application kept on file?

Applications are kept active one (1) year from the date of application.

3. Can I apply for more than one job on my application?

Yes, you can apply for more than one job on your application. Simply, list the jobs by title in the space provided.

4. What are your working hours?

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. However, some work schedules may vary.

5. How often will “new” jobs be listed? Where do you advertise vacancies?

New jobs are listed as they become available. Persons interested in reviewing our job vacancies may do one of the following:

See the Sunday edition of the Robesonian;
Visit the your local Employment Security Commission Office;
Or, visit the Robeson County Human Resource Office.
6. Where do I submit my application?

All applications MUST be submitted to the Robeson County Human Resources office located at:
701 North Elm Street
Lumberton, NC 28358

Upon selection a candidate must submit to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Note: If you are applying for the Sheriff’s Department, Jail, or Communications, you must submit your application to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Department.
If you are applying for a position with the Register of Deeds you must contact the Register of Deeds office.
